I love the Sideshow Star Wars Mythos statues so I was curious about the Alien take. In short, it's fantastic. The dynamic pose and scuplt quality bring this terrifying creature to life.
The Sideshow Mythos line is knocking it out of the park with these. I love the design on this Xeno. This looks like 100% original work and it is done to perfection. The lanky long arms and legs, with the two little arms and the short gaseous looking dorsal, are all great looking. This Xeno looks more acrobatic which makes it that much more terrifying. The legs gripping on to the hive like base, with its tail acting as a balance is awesome! The base is Giger perfection. The pose is surreal. The paint and color choices are perfect. The lighter browns and tans are the only way to go with this design. The see through skull changing texture as it goes back is smart and very well done. When in doubt, add a Jonesy, right! Right. I have this Xeno next to the other Sideshow statues like the Alien Warrior, Alien King & Queen and he looks perfect. I knew I had to get this from day one. This is the statue that catches my eye the most in my collection and is extremely inspiring to Alien fans. Movie makers and writers take note of what Sideshows artists are doing with Alien. This is pure perfection and I am grateful that Sideshow knows what Alien is and should be. No other artists could made something as wicked as this while still staying true to what makes it Alien.
As an avid fan of the Alien franchise I am always on the lookout for statues and figures that are worth buying. My wife bought this for me for our anniversary and the statue is amazing in its detail and presence. The paint application is flawless and the details (especially the Alien head) are simply amazing. I have had it on display for two days and every time I look at it I find another detail. I have the Alien Warrior Maquette and this statue is equal to it. I like the approach of this statue as it depicts the Alien Warrior as an 'insect' in my opinion. The addition of the cat in the exclusive version is OK but not a big deal. When a statue of this size and detail is shipped I am concerned about damage. No worries on this one. The statue comes in an art box and two shipping boxes. Wonderful packing on the part of Sideshow. A statue that costs $950 is quite a bit, but this one gives value for your consumer dollar. You will not find a better Alien statue. Enjoy!!
